Hello and welcome to Tenth Street Blues: A Creighton Basketball blog. Things are a little empty right now, but we promise to fill it with content.
Tenth Street Blues will cover the Creighton Men’s Basketball team starting with the 2013-2014 season and beyond. This is an exciting time for Creighton hoops, as the team and university join the newly reformed (and improved in my humble opinion) Big East Conference.
First things first, this is a blog. We are not your go-to for recruiting news or injury updates. The guys who write for this site are basketball fans above all else and their posts will reflect that. We are not seasoned journalists looking to break a major story (though we might just do that once or twice). We’ll write from the heart with a basketball fan perspective.
Our writers will write something every time there is a time. That could be every day once the season gets underway. It could be two, three or four times a week. It could be every day. When we do write something, we’ll do our best to make sure our content finds you.
Let’s meet our writers:
J.P. Scott — J.P. grew up in Upstate New York in the shadow of Syracuse University watching Big East basketball. His career has brought him to Omaha where he has settled and made a permanent home. He is a Creighton season-ticket holder who will offer his view of the action according to what he sees every night from his seats.
Dane Marvin — Dane is a Creighton student and die-hard Bluejay basketball fan. He’ll bring you his take on what is happening on the court as well as any basketball-related gossip he is privy to on campus. He has also been known to drop some satire on readers and we fully expect him to do the same here at TSB.
Ryan Osbahr — Ryan is what we will call “The Anti-Homer.” He’s an Iowa guy through and through, complete with an Iowa Hawkeye tattoo permanently embedded into his skin. That said, he watches and roots for Creighton every night as long as they aren’t playing his beloved Hawkeyes. He’s a bit of a college hoops guru, consistently winning bracket pools at the end of the year and offering a no-nonsense take on what’s really happening on the court. He’ll be here to keep the homers (fans, students and local media) in check with an “outside the box” point of view.
Nick Beaulieu — Nick is a student at Nebraska-Omaha who covers UNO hoops for the UNO Gateway. He’s also one of the most talented up and coming basketball writers in the greater Omaha area. He is a regular contributor to NebraskaHSHoops.com and regularly rubs elbows with the “Who’s Who” of the local Omaha media. We are excited to have him covering the Bluejays for TSB.
Thanks for reading! We hope you come back often and enjoy the content we provide.
